Friend, one of my greatest heroes is Congressman John Lewis.

His willingness to bleed for our civil rights and tireless commitment to making our country a better place inspired me to become a voting rights lawyer.

I was lucky enough to get to know Mr. Lewis when he joined me on the campaign trail in 2018.

His kindness and optimism was heartening. Even during our country's darkest moments, he was filled with hope for our future. With hope that everyone should get the chance to chase their version of the American dream.

To this day, Mr. Lewis' legacy inspires me to never stop fighting. That it's up to all of us to pick up the torch and keep working to ensure our country lives up to its founding ideals.

Unfortunately, so many of the rights and ideals he fought for are being eroded and attacked every single day by people like Ted Cruz.

If we're going to keep Mr. Lewis' fight alive, we must defeat anti-voting rights extremists like Ted Cruz. Friend, will you join me in fighting for a more fair and just America by pitching in a donation to defeat Ted Cruz?

Mr. Lewis talked a lot about fighting for what you believe in.

Well, I believe Texans are more alike than we are different. That we're better than who Ted Cruz makes us out to be and we deserve better than his divisive extremism. That change is possible.

If you believe Texas – and our country – deserves better than Ted Cruz, please donate $5, or anything at all, to my campaign today.

Cruz and his extremist mega donors are doing everything they can to crush our grassroots movement, but with your help, I know we can beat the odds, win, and work toward a better future for every single person in this country.

Thanks for believing in me, friend.

Colin
