Subpoenaed Top Small Business Administration Officials

The SBA has refused to comply with the Committee’s ongoing investigation into potential electioneering activities regarding the Memorandum of Understanding they have entered with Michigan’s Secretary of State to register voters. The SBA's sole mission is to help Main Street thrive and grow, and they have repeatedly strayed from that mission to pursue outside political objectives. I subpoenaed Tyler Robinson, SBA Special Advisor, and Arthur Plews, SBA Chief of Staff. We must hold federal agencies accountable to the American people. Read the full release here.

Met With the National Brain Tumor Society

Awareness is crucial in the ongoing fight against glioblastoma. I introduced a resolution expressing support for the designation of July 17, 2024, as “Glioblastoma Awareness Day.” This resolution increases glioblastoma awareness, which is critical to research and treatment advancements, and expresses support for those battling this disease. Fighting Antisemitism on American Campuses

American campuses, once respected and envied across the world, have become breeding grounds for the radical left to promote their Anti-America agenda. I can guarantee that defunding violent gender studies majors will end this chaos immediately. I introduced the No Student Loan Forgiveness for Antisemitic Criminals Act, which would bar any student who is arrested for engaging in antisemitic activities within the United States from receiving student loan forgiveness through federal income-driven repayment programs. Small Business Committee Hearing

This week, I led a full committee hearing examining the impacts of regulatory burdens on small businesses in healthcare. The FDA is responsible for protecting the public’s health by ensuring the safety and efficacy of new pharmaceutical drugs as well as medical devices. If the FDA shies away from any and all risk, it will significantly limit innovation and make it harder for small businesses to make an impact in the healthcare industry. The balance between risk and innovation is a fine line, but we must be able to maintain it. Doctors want to treat, cure, and innovate, not spend time on bureaucratic red tape. Financial Services Subcommittee Hearing

Current conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine have decreased our domestic defense industrial stockpiles. With the strongest military in the world, it is imperative that we prioritize rebuilding our defense industrial stockpiles to ensure our readiness in the face of any emerging threats. We cannot afford to let our guard down, especially as adversaries like China seek to expand their influence and undermine global stability. It's essential for our national security that we maintain a robust defense capability to safeguard our interests and deter any potential threats to our sovereignty.
