I am writing to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to our CWA members and retirees. So many of you play a maternal role in others' lives, whether it is as a mother or trusted caregiver for children or as a beloved mentor to younger generations. By doing so you exemplify the highest values of our union - devotion to others and love of your family and community.

Today I remember my own mother, who is no longer physically with us, and all the joy she brought to me and my family. And I pledge to continue fighting for all mothers, so that they have the good jobs, strong benefits and family care leave, and secure retirements that they deserve.
