They taught me the meaning of community and filled my cup so I could pour into others.
This Mother's Day, I am taking time to celebrate and uplift the mother figures who have shaped our lives.
When I fell seriously ill, my mother provided the full–time care I needed.
Whenever I needed someone to lean on, my mother and grandmother were there.
Their never–ending love, sacrifice, guidance, and values made me who I am today. They taught me the meaning of community and filled my cup so I could pour into others.
To this day, they inspire me to continue showing up for our County’s families and providing the People–centered leadership they deserve.
I am eternally grateful to my mother and grandmother for the time and effort they have invested in my life.
So today, I honor the biological moms, stepmoms, foster moms, adoptive moms, aunts, grandmothers, and all who serve as mother figures in their communities.
Thank you for everything you do.
Happy Mother's Day!
