Announcing the 2024 Congressional Art Competition Winners
Congratulations to the 2024 Congressional Art Competition winners!
I joined participants at the Syd Blackmarr Arts Center in Tifton on Sunday, where we held an exhibit and award ceremony.
The first place prize went to Coffee County High School student Ariella Ramos for her piece “La Bestia.” It will be displayed in the United States Capitol building for a year alongside artwork from every Congressional district across the country.
Second place went to Tift County High School student Antron Johnson for his piece, “A Search for Peace,” and third place went to Houston County High School student Harley Tye Mitchell for her piece, “Empathy.”
The People’s Choice Award, which goes to the most liked photo of submissions on Facebook, was awarded to Lowndes High School student Daniela Galindo for her piece “Miamiga Camila.” This will be displayed in my Washington, D.C. office for one year.
The talent among these young students in our district always blows me away, and I thank everyone for participating!

Ensuring Election Integrity
Under no circumstances should anyone in this country who is not a citizen vote in any federal election.
Since President Joe Biden took office, millions of illegal aliens have come into our country, and some liberal states have allowed them to register to vote. This is unacceptable and diminishes election integrity.
That's why I cosponsored Rep. Chip Roy's Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would strengthen the current law permitting only U.S. citizens to vote in federal elections.
This legislation requires states to obtain proof of citizenship in person from individuals registering to vote and has states remove noncitizens from existing voter rolls.
Only American citizens should determine American elections, and last week, the House passed the Equal Representation Act with my support.
This legislation requires the decennial census to include a citizenship question and exclude noncitizens from the population where the apportionment of each state's U.S. House representation and electors is based. This means that illegal aliens will be excluded, and only American citizens will be counted when drawing Congressional districts.
I'm proud to support both of these efforts to safeguard the American electoral process.

Meeting with the Georgia Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers
Last week, young farmers and ranchers with the Georgia Farm Bureau met with me in Washington.
With the Farm Bill markup scheduled for May 23rd, it was great to hear their priorities.
Agriculture is the backbone of Georgia's economy and the core of our rural communities. Ensuring that the Farm Bill supports our farmers and ranchers and supports our state.
