John,
Good afternoon, and Welcome to our
Weekend Update.
I want to begin by wishing a Happy
Mother’s Day to all the moms across the 9th District! There
is no more demanding or more rewarding job. I want to take a moment to
wish a special Happy Mother’s Day to my mother, Maeve, and my wife,
Shelley.
Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump took
Wildwood by storm. He held a massive rally in Wildwood Boardwalk in
New Jersey. A crowd of nearly 100,000 faithful Americans gathered to
hear from President Trump. President Trump detailed the many reasons
we need to defeat Joe Biden: get our economy going, secure our border,
restore law and order to our communities, and a foreign policy agenda
based on peace through strength. Click
here to watch President Trump's speech.
I was not able to attend, as I attended
my son Danny's graduation from Bucknell University. His mom and I are
so proud of him, and we are so excited for him to begin this next
chapter in his life.
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s
mission is to “aid, counsel, assist, and protect the interests of
small businesses.” Yet, instead of working toward its mission, the
agency has decided to use its limited taxpayer resources and time to
advance partisan political campaigns. The SBA should not be engaged in
registering primarily Democrat voters in the swing state of Michigan.
Tyler Robinson, SBA Senior Advisor, even admitted on camera that the
agency is involved in electioneering and serving as a de-facto
extension of President Biden’s reelection campaign. The House
Committee on Small Business is investigating and will expose exactly
where else this is happening, who authorized it, and what other
agencies are engaged in similar illegal acts.
I joined Newsmax’s “American
Agenda” to discuss further. Click

On “The Chris Salcedo Show,” I discussed
the Motion to Vacate the Speaker, which has now been officially
tabled. We also covered the issue of illegal voter registration by the
Small Business Administration. No federal agency or taxpayer resources
should be used to directly benefit President Biden’s reelection
campaign. The Small Business Committee will expose where exactly this
is happening, who authorized it, and what other federal agencies are
engaged in similar illegal electioneering. Click

Joe Biden is circumventing the will of
Congress by withholding weapons to Israel. This is nothing more than a
political ploy to appease his woke, far-left base and pick up votes in
Michigan. This Administration’s liberal ideology is upside down and
backward, and it has created chaos around the world. I joined the
Fox News Across America radio program with our good friend
Jason Chaffetz. Click
here or below to listen.
The Biden administration is letting
Soros-funded radicals on college campuses dictate foreign policy.
Withholding munitions from Israel is nothing more than a political
ploy to shore up support from his woke far-left base. By circumventing
the will of Congress in delaying the weapons transfer to our closest
ally in the Middle East, we weaken Israel’s deterrence against Iran
and its proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah. We cannot allow President
Biden to abandon Israel – what message would that send to our allies
and adversaries around the world?
Check out my interview with Bob Cordaro
on WILK Newsradio. We covered my recent trip to Philadelphia
for a Judiciary Committee field hearing focused on the city's
soft-on-crime policies under DA Larry Krasner, illegal electioneering
efforts by the Small Business Administration to register Democrat
voters in Michigan, and much more. Click
here or below to listen.
The phase-out of the R&D Tax Credit
is hitting small businesses hard, particularly those in the medical
field dedicated to creating breakthrough medicines. Developing new
treatments already carries a substantial price tag. Losing the ability
to deduct research expenses fully adds more hurdles and red tape,
further straining small businesses and potentially impeding patient
access to new medications and medical equipment.
During a recent House Committee on Small
Business hearing, we discussed how increased taxes and regulations
have burdened small businesses seeking to provide quality healthcare
and treatments to their patients. Click

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE
MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Joe Biden’s sit-down on CNN was a
reminder of why Biden’s handlers rarely allow him to do
interviews.
It was a colossal disaster — a clinic in
weak gaslighting and brazen lying marred by cognitive decline.
Biden claimed he
“already turned [the economy] around” and “polling data has been
wrong.”
- According to Biden, Americans “think they’re in good shape
economically,” even though two-thirds
say they’re living paycheck-to-paycheck, homeownership is becoming
impossible, real incomes are lower than when Biden took office, and
consumer confidence remains extremely
low. It’s no wonder Americans trust President Trump on the economy by
a wide
margin.
Biden claimed people
actually “have the money to spend” on inflated prices — then blamed it
on “corporate greed.”
Biden pledged to
stop weapons shipments to Israel “if they go into Rafah” — and admitted he
has already “held up” certain deliveries.
- The largely incoherent announcement came less than a day after
Biden committed “ironclad”
U.S. support for Israel.
Biden claimed, “Inflation
was 9% when I came to office.”
Biden said the
2011 raid on Osama bin Laden “made sense.”
Biden denied the
latest GDP report fell “far short of expectations.”
Biden insisted he
has “created over 15 million jobs.”
- Once again,
Biden failed to mention that the vast majority had simply recovered after
the pandemic.
Biden appeared to
excuse the antisemitic riots terrorizing Jewish students on college
campuses.
- It was difficult to assess Biden’s true meaning amid his
nonsensical rambling.
Of course, Biden’s interview was also
filled with his usual slurring, struggling,
and incoherence —
but one thing was crystal clear: Biden is far too weak,
feeble, and dishonest to take any responsibility for the economic and
foreign policy crises he has created.
Now, he’s left to deal with the
consequences of his fecklessness.
In November, Joe Biden will be
rejected for good. We must elect President Donald Trump. He is the
only one who can clean up Biden's mess!
This week, I enjoyed meeting with members
of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, discussing avenues for
strengthening support for realtors and homebuyers across Northeastern
Pennsylvania. Our discussions focused on ensuring our veterans can
effectively use their VA home loans, reducing business income tax
burdens, and demonstrating my commitment to advancing commercial real
estate investment throughout the Commonwealth.
I want to thank the Pennsylvania State
Association of Township Supervisors for inviting me to speak at their
breakfast meeting this week. Townships across PA provide crucial
services for their residents, and in Congress, I'm committed to
helping secure resources to benefit community projects throughout our
District. During the meeting, we discussed issues related to emergency
services, revitalization, infrastructure, and more.
As we celebrate National Nurses Week,
it's essential to recognize the profound impact nurses have on their
patients and communities. They're not just caregivers but also
advocates, leaders, and educators. So this week, thank a nurse! From
Sayre to Pottsville, to Sunbury to Williamsport, we are very grateful
to all the incredible nurses across Pennsylvania’s 9th District. I
spoke on the floor of the U.S. House about the importance of nurses in
our communities. Click
here or below to watch.
I enjoyed speaking at the Chase for
Business event in DC! Thanks to JPMorgan Chase & Co., Jamie Dimon,
Ben Walter, and all who shared invaluable insights to empower
entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. I'm fighting to
support small business growth every day in Congress.
I enjoyed discussing real estate,
interest rates, regulations, and small businesses with Governor
Michelle Bowman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
System. Her private sector experience offers a unique perspective as
she deliberates the future of economic policy in our country. I look
forward to working with her throughout her governorship.
I want to thank BNY Mellon and CEO Robin
Vince for your strong presence in Pennsylvania and unwavering
commitment to strengthening our U.S. banking and custodial system. As
America's oldest bank, BNY Mellon is a testament to our enduring
history of capitalism.
This week, we observed Holocaust
Remembrance Day. We pay tribute to the six million Jewish lives
tragically lost during one of human history's darkest chapters. We
remember the victims and survivors and pledge to continue to fight in
the ongoing battle against antisemitism.
We are excited to catch up with you next
week. God Bless, and see you soon,
Dan
