Believe it or not, I first met Raquel when she knocked on my door while canvassing for her first race in my neighborhood. From that day onward, I have always admired and loved her tenacity, her passion and her devotion to her work. She is so deeply committed to advancing justice, fighting for working families and ensuring immigrant communities like ours are heard. As a working mom, she knows firsthand just how important these issues are for our families and our future.
So EJ and I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to the most amazing mom, Raquel. I’m reminded each day how lucky I am to have her as my partner, and how lucky our son EJ is to have Raquel as his mom.
