John,
Today, on Mother's Day, we are grateful and proud to be in this movement with so many mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers.

To the many women who do not have biological children, but do the life-sustaining, healing, radical work of mothering nonetheless – we see you and appreciate you.
To the elders and foremothers of the feminist movement – we would be nothing without you.
To those of you who are once again fighting for the rights you won decades ago, not for yourselves but for your daughters, granddaughters, and generations of women you will never see – we honor you.
The heart and soul of any fight for justice and human rights is found in its youth and its grandmothers. However we celebrate this holiday, we remember that we are able to be in this work because of the women who came before us, and we must continue the work for those who come after.
In love and gratitude,
Women's March
