The resilience, care and selfless love that mothers give to their children inspire us. This Mother’s Day, we’re highlighting and celebrating some of the mothers around the world who are working hard to keep their children safe and happy.

Rebecca, health worker and mom of three “The moment this vaccine came, it saved the lives of many children.”

Rebecca bikes each week to villages to deliver lifesaving malaria vaccines for children. Thanks to UNICEF partners and workers like Rebecca, more children are vaccinated and fewer children are hospitalized.

Ohag, mother of two “I started planting the garden three months ago to provide my children a healthy diet with fresh vegetables.”

To combat malnutrition, Ohag has started growing green vegetables such as okra, cucumber and purslane. With tools and seeds provided by UNICEF, Ohag can feed her children a varied diet.

Wala, mother of six “I feel happy I can see him now and that he is okay, even if he is small. I hope he will have a better life than mine.”

Wala endured a difficult pregnancy due to a lack of prenatal care. She delivered a healthy baby after eight months and is now caring for her newborn.”
