Happy Mother’s Day, John!
Here’s to all the mothers and caretakers in Delaware. They are too often the unsung heroes of our communities, juggling responsibilities and holding their families together through ups and downs.
And as a mother myself, I know the best way to celebrate moms is by prioritizing them in public service. A huge part of that is taking the stress off of mothers and all parents who worry about how they are going to feed their babies.
That’s why I worked with community partners at Harper’s Heart Closet of Love to provide over 15,000 canisters of baby formula for FREE – that’s the equivalent of up to 360,000 bottles’ worth!
To help mothers raise the next generation of Delawareans, I’ve also championed inclusive efforts in early childhood education – I helped create our state’s Office of Early Learning Advisory Committee, bringing together early childhood professionals, business and community representatives, state leaders and more. The first 1,825 days of a child’s life are critical to brain health and development, and it is crucial to me that young families have access to the best resources during the early stages of life.
