Dear John,

Mothers carry God’s creation on earth. Without them, we would have no place to call home.

Though we know motherhood is under attack – by organizations like Planned Parenthood and by major pharmaceutical companies with the abortion pill – there are many reasons for hope. Through my conversations with leaders of pregnancy resource centers and pro-life OB/GYNs, I know that the fight for life is alive and strong.

And we have cause for celebration. Because of your passionate advocacy and determined support for mothers and their preborn children, thousands of children have been welcomed into life – and today, thousands of women across our nation will celebrating Mother’s Day.

While the Supreme Court has proclaimed, loud and clear, that no “right” to abortion exists, together, we have a lot of work to do to ensure that every American child is welcomed throughout life and protected in law.

Together, these mothers and their children are the reason Americans United for Life exists.
