As we take this day to celebrate our mothers, I want to recognize my wonderful mother, Lala Mooney.
Below is a picture of my mother at our most recent rally with Senator Ted Cruz. Like Senator Ted Cruz’s father, my mother escaped communist Cuba. She instilled in me a love for America and the understanding that our freedoms are not free.
I know from my own mother’s story that tyrants can and will use the government to take your job, property, and freedom. My mother was thrown in a prison cell by communist thug Fidel Castro before she was able to escape Cuba.
I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Your courage and sacrifice for your families represent true love and devotion.
