It’s a big day for moms-turned-advocates. We’re celebrating Mother’s Day and SCAN’s third Day of Action!
A little about me: My family lives in West Virginia, where I was born and raised. 5-year-old Ari and 10-month-old Matthew are my entire world – and the reason I advocate.
Before this year, I’d never been to the state capitol. But I want to fight for families like mine – so I met with lawmakers to explain how early learning helps Ari thrive. Hearing caregivers’ stories made them want to fund programs that support us.
Fundraisers help SCAN train advocates like me. There are so many creative ways to do it, like donating your birthday or hosting your own event.
I know Mother’s Day isn’t easy for everyone. Making a difference for families worldwide is a special way to honor a mom in your life – or a loved one you’ve lost.
