John, 

To all the incredible mothers and grandmothers out there, I want to wish a happy Mother’s Day!

But I especially want to thank three women in my life: my mother, my mother-in-law and my wife.

My mother risked everything to come to America with me from communist Vietnam when I was just four years old. She didn’t know what was ahead of her - only that she wanted a better life for her children than she had.

If it weren’t for her sacrifice, I may not be alive today.

Next, I want to thank my mother-in-law for raising such an amazing woman who has been my best friend for the last twenty-five years.

Finally, my beautiful and incredible wife April. Being a military spouse isn’t easy, and when I was away she raised five children and held down our home.

There is no greater calling than being a parent, and the sacrifices mothers around the world make for us are the greatest gift.

Take time today to give thanks for the amazing mothers in your life and be sure to wish them a happy Mother’s Day.
