– We know Mother’s Day can be difficult for some, so please feel free to disregard the message below. Thank you! –
Friends,
Happy Mother’s Day to all my fellow moms and motherly figures out there! I hope you all get a chance to celebrate with your loved ones and do something fun, relaxing, or whatever fills your cup. I’m looking forward to spending the day with my two kiddos, but wanted to reach out with a quick reflection on what our work on redistricting means for mothers and families across the country.
As I am sure you have noticed, too many politicians are making life harder – not easier – for moms, mother figures, and other caregivers. Reproductive freedom and access to reproductive health care is constantly under attack, parental leave is often too minimal (and unpaid) if offered at all, child care is costly and frequently out of reach, and so much more. It is deeply upsetting, and it makes All On The Line’s fight that much more important.
Partisan gerrymandering enables politicians to be out-of-touch with what families actually need. If we don’t win fair maps, we cannot elect the right leaders who will actually reflect the priorities of the people they are meant to serve – namely, popular pro-family policies, like affordable and available healthcare, paid parental leave, and the right to decide when and whether to start or grow a family.
These are all things we value, and they drive our fight to put an end to gerrymandering across the country.

I cannot thank you enough for your dedication to this cause, friends — and neither can moms across America. Thank you.
