In the month of April, the Innocence Project is raising money to cover the costs of necessities — like food, shelter, and medical care — for exonerated clients who are experiencing hardships due to the spread of COVID-19.
Many of our clients come out of prison after many years only to face economic instability, health concerns, or other obstacles. With millions of people losing their jobs and health care during this health crisis, exonerees are particularly vulnerable.
The Innocence Project exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. www.innocenceproject.org
