We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy as you manage this unprecedented crisis. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the Ounce remains committed to supporting our children and families through this challenging time.

While we cannot be together in person for our Annual Luncheon this year, we are pleased to share that we’re transforming our event to a live, virtual screening of our soon-to-be premiered documentary film, “Tomorrow's Hope,” funded and produced by The Saul Zaentz Charitable Foundation. This special film follows three high school seniors, from our first cohort of Educare students, as they prepare for graduation and beyond. It's an unprecedented look at how early childhood education has impacted their lives, 17 years later.

The film screening and panel discussion that follows with early childhood experts will focus on the importance of early education and the significant role parents play in the long-term success of their children, especially in times of crisis. As the pandemic evolves, more schools, businesses and child care providers are being forced to close their doors. For many families, this means they will no longer have access to critical resources, such as affordable meals, child care programs and health care services. As a result, our youngest learners may be seriously impacted for months, and perhaps years, to come.

Thanks to our generous sponsors , we can offer this engaging event at no additional cost and extend the invitation to families, young professionals and educators from coast-to-coast.

During the week of April 20, we will provide you with additional information and instructions for how to join this virtual event and film screening. We’ll also share technical tips to ensure the best viewing experience possible.

Every day we’re seeing how families and communities are being impacted by incredible hardships as a result of the pandemic. We hope our reimagined Annual Luncheon, and the virtual screening of our film will provide inspiration and reassurance as you witness how unwavering resilience, parent engagement and early learning experiences can make a difference for every child, especially in times of adversity.

Please mark your calendars and join us on Monday, April 27 for this special event.

We look forward to seeing you, virtually, soon.
