Friend,

Last week, you probably saw Trippi’s note about why he’s optimistic about the race this year. But, you know me, and how I feel about all of this Trump business. 2016 and the four years that followed are still buried deep, deep in my brain. In short, I’m paranoid. Stuart often says Trump happened because too many people lacked the imagination to see how far MAGA would go. I promise you that I do not lack imagination. Trump is a fascist, authoritarian threat to America. There is nothing he will not do to win.

So, when I take a step back and look at how things are going, and I realize I’m actually pretty optimistic? I think that’s something we all need to hear.

Here’s why I think Trump should be terrified:

1. Trump’s fundraising buddy in Florida may have screwed him more than we thought. DeSantis has been all in on backing this highly unpopular six week abortion ban that recently passed in his home state. The cherry on top? Florida voters will have the chance to repeal it at the ballot box in November. Talk about a turnout driver. Will voters cast their ballots for the guy who wants to punish women for getting an abortion or the guy who wants to encode the right into the Constitution? Let’s just say I have a hunch. And that means Trump’s playing defense in a state he should win.

2. The Donald looks like he’s tired of getting his ass kicked 24/7. To be frank, nothing is going right for the Orange Messiah. Hundreds of thousands of Republicans are STILL turning out in swing states just to vote for Nikki Haley. Over and over. That means registered Republicans are going to the polls just to tell the world how much they hate Trump. And that’s just the polls. The rest of it is bad, bad news too. His pornstar trial is keeping him grounded, his family has abandoned him, his stock is crashing, and it’s starting to take its toll. We aren’t seeing the swaggering leader. We’re seeing a sad old man. Everything’s catching up with him.

3. The economy continues to improve. It’s been doing well for a long time, and now we’re all starting to see the benefits. It’s clear that Joe Biden is helping Americans feel better in their economic lives. He’s going after airline fees. Credit card fees. Ripoff annoying fees. Every American should be talking about how Joe Biden is helping them not get screwed every day. This is the kind of thing that makes people want to vote for you. Especially when the guy on the other side spends his only time outside of a courtroom ranting on Truth Social about how terrible the United States is.

In my humble, paranoid opinion, I’m feeling good. I like our chances. I’d much rather be on this side than on Trump’s side. I know we’re still six months out, but that’s why we have to keep going.

We’re making a difference here, and if we keep reminding the masses everything our current president has done while simultaneously tearing down Trump, I’ll be even more optimistic than I am right now. Chip in to keep us trending upwards >>
