Hello Democrats, We have less than 200 days until what will be one of the most consequential elections in our nation's history. It’s important we take stock of not just what we are up against, but also what we have accomplished. President Biden has made historic progress despite having a divided Congress.
Under President Biden, more than 15 million jobs were created. The unemployment rate has been below 4% for the longest stretch in over 50 years. We’ve seen historic economic growth and record new business creation. And the progress doesn’t stop at improving the economy. Biden has lowered prescription drug costs, rebuilt roads and bridges, and made the biggest investments in US history to combat climate change.

Meanwhile, Trump and the GOP want to send us backwards and destroy President Biden’s historic accomplishments. They brag about overturning Roe v. Wade and would further attack abortion rights if they have the chance. They vow to terminate the Affordable Care Act, cut Medicare and Social Security, and give tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations. To make matters worse, Republicans have challenged our democracy by supporting January 6 rioters and extreme right-wing politicians like Yvette Herrell and Nella Domenici.
Never have the differences been so clear and the stakes so high. But we need to get the message out across New Mexico. Over the next few months, the Democratic Party of New Mexico will have to build our campaign infrastructure to make sure every voter knows about President Biden’s historic accomplishments.
Furthermore, we need New Mexicans to understand how disastrous a vote for Trump will be for our country and our democracy. We can’t do that without your support though.
