About 72 hours ago, House Republicans narrowly passed H.R. 2925 — putting the profits of an industry worth several hundred billion dollars ahead of American taxpayers.

In another giveaway to Big Oil and Gas corporations, the GOP voted to undermine scientific evidence and harm our public lands by allowing mining companies to hold public lands hostage for mining activities.

If their bill were to become law, bad actors could block renewable energy development, conservation, and even recreational use of public lands.

I was proud to vote no, but this time, our votes were not enough.
