I don’t want you to ever forget that some elected officials right here in PA — including in Allegheny County — posed as fake electors in a failed attempt to steal the 2020 election for Donald Trump. So many still stand behind their lies and attacks on our democracy to this day.

John, I swore an oath to protect our democracy in uniform, and I’m fighting to defend it today in Congress.

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. I’ll never give an inch to extremists trying to rip up our Constitution or the cowards who give them comfort.

In the wake of the 2020 presidential election, across the country, we saw radical efforts to spread lies about voter fraud, attack voting rights, and overturn the results of the presidential election.

We even saw a terrible act of political violence and a failed coup at the U.S. Capitol.

Donald Trump tried to overthrow our government and he and his far-right enablers in Congress and beyond are a clear and present danger to our Constitution and our democracy today.

American democracy is under siege, but I know there are more of us committed to this country than those who scream the loudest about tearing it down. And know this: I won’t back down from this fight for our freedom.
