As I’ve met with folks across this district during the past several months, I’ve heard over and over again how upset and betrayed people feel by Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s anti-choice extremism. She narrowly won this race in 2022 after portraying herself as some kind of “moderate.” But during her time in Congress, she has supported a federal abortion ban, applauded the overturning of Roe, and even voted to strip reproductive rights from members of our military.

It’s not just Republicans: my Democratic primary opponent stood with perpetrators of sexual assault, watering down a bill to extend the civil statute of limitations, limiting the window for survivors to seek justice. In the name of “protect[ing] the accused,” she pushed for changes that shortened the civil statute of limitations for sexual assault to less than that for property trespass!
