Ultra-MAGA extremist Marjorie Taylor Greene led an unsuccessful yet deeply troubling effort this week to unseat Mike Johnson from his position of Speaker of the House.

Though MTG’s effort failed to reach a critical mass, the incident highlights the increasingly perilous situation for Johnson, who faces the same extreme right wing forces that pushed out his predecessor, Kevin McCarthy.

Huge swaths of the House GOP are extremely discontent with Speaker Johnson: they don’t think he supports Trump enough, they don’t like that he sent critical military aid to support Ukraine in their fight against Russia, and they don’t like that he compromised with Democrats on Border funding.

The MAGA-right’s patience for speaker Johnson is wearing thin and we know that if Johnson is forced out the specter of House Speaker Jim Jordan looms large.

Jordan has Trump’s backing and it was only because of a small handful of Republicans that they didn’t nominate him in 2023. God forbid if Trump wins in 2024 we know that he will pull out all stops to bring his yes-man Jim Jordan into power as speaker.

We can’t let Jordan become speaker - can you donate $10, $25, or even $100 to stop Jordan and elect his Dem challenger Tamie Wilson before it’s too late?

Speaker Johnson is hanging on by a thread and we cannot let Jordan assume the speakership. Thank you in advance for your support for the only effort to stop Jordan once and for all.
