After November, we face two paths. If Trump wins, extremists will come for abortion rights in every state. But if we re-elect President Biden with a Democratic Congress, we can ensure reproductive freedom across the country. We have to stay in the fight, and we have to win.
I also want to underscore that President Biden is not just saying, “Give me a House, give me a Senate, and we’ll make Roe v. Wade law of the land.” That is an important priority — but he’s also been fighting for this in additional ways. For members of the U.S. military who are stationed in states that ban abortion, President Biden has made sure that they will still have access to reproductive care. The VA has started expanding its services for abortion care for veterans. And President Biden is fighting in the courts right now, making the argument to keep medication abortion available everywhere.
There is no sharper contrast between the two people who are running for president than there is on abortion. I’ll keep saying it: Abortion is on the ballot this year.
So I’m going to pull on every lever to fight for the right to an abortion nationwide. That means campaigning against MAGA Republicans' out-of-touch extremism in order to prevent their plans for a national ban. That means electing pro-abortion Democrats in the Senate and ending the filibuster so we can codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. That means reversing the right-wing takeover of our Supreme Court by working to expand and rebalance it. That means supporting local candidates and ballot measures that will defend abortion rights at the state level.
And that means making sure President Biden wins and we prevent Donald Trump from passing extremist anti-abortion plans. But we rely on your support to get this done. So will you please split a contribution of $28 between the Biden-Harris campaign and our re-election to help ensure we can pass national abortion protections?
Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
