Join us tonight on Facebook Live to hear his story

Dear Supporter,

At the age of 17, Dawud Assad awoke in the early morning hours of April 9, 1948 to see his village in flames. After narrowly escaping, he made his way to the United States, earning a Masters of Science in Industrial Management and an Honorary Doctoral Degree.

In 2008, Mr. Assad released a book titled, “Palestine Rising: How I Survived the 1948 Deir Yassin Massacre.” Since then, he has gone on tours and speaking engagements to educate the public about the massacre that occurred in Deir Yassin and other tragedies which befell Palestinian people as a result of Zionist aggression.

Tonight at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central
, we will be hosting a live discussion on Facebook with Mr. Dawud Assad and AMP’s Education Coordinator Tarek Khalil about the history of the Nakba and why it's important to make sure that story is heard and what we can do about it.

Today, Mr. Assad is a pillar in the New Jersey Muslim community, serving as the President of the Islamic Service Organization. He was a Founding Member of the Islamic Society of Central Jersey, located in Monmouth Junction, South Brunswick, New Jersey (ISCJ), and served on the board of the mosque for years.

Mr. Assad is currently 88 years old, a gem of the Palestinian cause and community.

Tune in live tonight at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central for this important commemoration and conversation.

The Nakba never ended and our work to bring justice to Palestine must not end either!

Sincerely,

Taher Herzallah
Associate Director of Outreach & Grassroots Organizing
