We need leaders who’ll put us first, not bury their heads in the sand or—worse—try to capitalize on a crisis.

We know that so many folks are going through a challenging time right now. If you’d like to hit pause on these emails while this crisis is at its worst, just let us know here.

Friend, in this moment of crisis, we need leaders who’ll put us first, not bury their heads in the sand or—worse—try to find a way to personally benefit from it.

That’s why it is beyond belief that Mitch McConnell is running ads on TV taking a victory lap on this crisis—even though our economy is on pause, people are out of work, millions of Americans are sheltering in place, and the worst health consequences of this crisis might be yet to come.

It’s tone-deaf, for sure. But it’s also disingenuous. The federal response to this pandemic has been slow and the threat has been downplayed, and Mitch had a leading role in that delay. In fact, Mitch actually blocked emergency research into COVID-19 until he could ensure that drug companies would be allowed to overcharge for vaccines.

The truth is, this fight isn’t over—and while Mitch is telling the voters across Kentucky how well-connected he is in Washington, we’ll be the ones asking:

What good is a “powerful” senator if he’s not working for us?

If you can, please chip in today, and let’s elect a leader for Kentucky who’ll fight for us—first and always.

Thank you,
