Help us tell our story.

Indivisibles,

It's hard to believe, but we are only about 6 months out until the general election in November. All of the energy, time, passion and resources we've collectively put into organizing and building power across the country will be focused on mobilizing our communities for one of the most defining elections of our lives.

Our movement will play a crucial role in this election, and one goal we've set out to achieve this year is to be able to evaluate our network and assess our impact, so that we can understand where we are right now, and where we are headed. Being able to tell the story of our work this year is a way that we show our power, but in order to do that, we need to build a shared understanding of who we are as a community -- and to provide a way for you, as the leaders of this movement, to share that with us directly.

To that end, we are excited to work with Dr. Dana Fisher, a prominent researcher on American political movements, and her team at the University of Maryland to launch the Indivisible Census. This comprehensive, anonymous survey will help us learn more about:

  • Who makes up our nationwide network
  • What issues you care about
  • What activities or tactics you like to do

But a census is only as good as the number of people who respond to it, which is why we're emailing you to ask you to take part.

It's not the shortest survey we've ever asked you to complete, but it’s an important one. Help us be able to tell the story of our movement -- click here to fill out the Indivisible Census now.

We'll admit, it may seem strange that we're asking you these questions at this moment, and we are all the more grateful to you for taking time to complete it.

When we planned the Indivisible Census many weeks ago, we knew it was important to launch it well before our work picks up for the November election. Now that we're about 6 months out from Election Day, this was the best opportunity to ask Indivisibles to step back and take part in this survey.

Dr. Fisher has been tracking Indivisible's work, and the work of our allies, since the 2016 election. We're thrilled to have her partnership on this project, and we hope the results will provide valuable insight not just for our network, but for national political and social movements yet to come.

We need your help now to make sure as many Indivisibles as possible can take part! Please click here and take a few minutes to complete the Indivisible Census.

P.S. We can't talk about the Indivisible Census without talking about the ACTUAL United States census as well. The information collected through the census determines everything from how much federal funding is allocated for your local schools and hospitals, to how lines are drawn for your legislative districts, to the number of seats your state will have in the House of Representatives. That’s an incredible amount of power, and it will affect our communities for years to come. So, once you’ve completed our Indivisible Census, please make sure to complete your 2020 census if you haven’t yet done so at 2020census.gov.
