A Heartfelt Mother's Day Message from President Domingo Garcia
==============================================================
On this Mother's Day, I extend my warmest greetings to all mothers nationwide,
especially the remarkable Latina mothers who enrich our families, communities,
and country with their love, strength, and resilience.
As President of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), I want to
express my deep appreciation for the invaluable contributions of Latina mothers.
You are the backbone of our homes, the driving force of our communities, and the
unsung heroes whose sacrifices pave the way for brighter futures.
Within LULAC, we are fortunate to have many leaders who are mothers themselves.
Your courage, dedication, and passion inspire us all, showing that motherhood is
about raising children and nurturing and empowering generations.
Throughout our history, LULAC has held a profound respect and appreciation for
mothers. From advocating for educational opportunities to fighting for fair wages
and dignified working conditions, LULAC mothers have been at the forefront of the
struggle for justice and equality.
On this special day, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my wife, Dr. Elba
Garcia, the mother of my sons Joaquin and Fernando. Her unwavering support, love,
and dedication are the bedrock of our family, and her strength and resilience
inspire me every day.
I also celebrate my own mother, Manuela Garcia Cano, whose unconditional love and
guidance have shaped my life and instilled in me the values of integrity,
compassion, and service to others. Her legacy of kindness and generosity inspires
me as I lead LULAC in its mission to advance the rights and dignity of all
Latinos.
Join us as we also honor the mothers of the following LULAC leaders:
Analuisa Tapia, LULAC National Sgt-at-Arms
"I honor the Guerrera who gave me life and taught me that there is no challenge
that can extinguish our sueños and no wall tall enough to separate us from our
God-given right to succeed. Thank you for instilling in me, 'nunca se rinda
porque usted es Tapia!!!'"
Jose Barrera, LULAC National Vice-President for the Far West
"Con mucho amor y dedicación te deseo un feliz día de las madres. Gracias por
todo tu apoyo y amor incondicional."
Elsa Ramon Aranda, Nebraska LULAC State Director
"I thank God for my mother, Felicitas Aranda Ramon. From her, I learned
unfathomable resilience. Most of all, she knew how to find joy in everything, a
blessing I strive to emulate daily."
To all the incredible Latina mothers out there, feliz Día de las Madres! Your
contributions are immeasurable, your sacrifices are noble, and your legacy is
everlasting.
¡Feliz Día de las Madres!
