Friend,

Iowa is flourishing under Governor Kim Reynolds! Iowa was ranked as the sixth best state to live and third best state for new opportunities. The national rankings are finally catching up to what we’ve all known for a long time – Iowa is the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

Governor Reynolds' continued successes in Iowa are a perfect contrast to President Biden's national failures. While Biden has opened our border, Governor Reynolds has worked to protect Iowans from this invasion. Biden has spent trillions of dollars we don't have. Governor Reynolds has cut taxes and prioritized working families. The list goes on and on! I will continue fighting for commonsense policies in Washington so that we can make America run more like Iowa.

Read on for more on my work for Iowans this week.

Best,

Eastern Iowa Iowa Honor Flight

Last week, my team joined the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight in DC to thank our veterans for their service. We are forever grateful for your service and sacrifice!

Holding the IRS Accountable

This week, I pressed IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel on why IRS employees continue to work from home while Iowans needs are put on the back burner. Every IRS employee should be in the office providing the best possible customer service to Iowans whose taxpayer dollars pay their salary.

I will continue holding the Administration accountable for allowing bureaucrats to do the bare minimum while hardworking taxpayers struggle. Watch my line of questioning here.

Bipartisan Work for Iowa Veterans

Though it doesn’t always make the 5 o’clock news, there is still good bipartisan work happening in Congress. For example, last week the House passed two bills to help veterans transition into civilian life and pursue higher education opportunities when they return from service. The Veterans Education Transparency and Training Act will eliminate barriers for veterans seeking higher education and make it easier for veterans to access information about education benefits. The Veterans Economic Opportunity and Transition Administrative Act will streamline assistance programs for veterans, including housing and loan programs, educational assistance programs, and vocational rehabilitation and employment programs.

I’ll continue to cut through the chaos and dysfunction to support our veterans and deliver results for all Iowans.

Greater Des Moines Partnership Panel

It was great to speak with the members of the Des Moines Partnership this week and discuss initiatives to support Iowa small businesses and foster community development across the state. I appreciate their dedication to making sure Iowa remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family!

Celebrating Iowa Ag

John Deere came to D.C. this week to showcase how their equipment and technology help farmers feed and fuel the world. This was a great opportunity to highlight Iowa agriculture in Washington, and I was thrilled to see so many Iowans contributing to this event.

Iowa Realtors

It was great to meet with the Iowa Association of Realtors this week! We discussed our shared efforts to improve housing access and help Iowans achieve the dream of home ownership.
