Our service members should not have to worry whether they and their families can receive VA health care benefits as they transition to civilian life. I'm leading a bipartisan bill to address any lapse in care and give armed forces certainty they deserve.

This week, I joined Fox Business to talk about my recent border trip to Arizona to see the latest on the border crisis firsthand and hear from border patrol on the front lines.

As cartels redirect migrants to illegally cross in Arizona and California, border patrol is forced to process the influx of migrants instead of patrolling the border.

I introduced a bipartisan resolution this week to designate May 5-11, 2024 as “Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week” to raise awareness about maternal mental health and its effects on maternal-child health.

As Maternity Care Caucus co-chair, I will keep working to deliver results and support women, whether they are pregnant, recovering from childbirth, or facing infertility.

I joined Washington Times' Guy Taylor on "Threat Status," where I called for U.S. leadership in addressing AI and other technological threats from the Chinese Communist Party and discussed the importance of showing up for our allies in the Indo-Pacific.

Today, I introduced the Small Dollar Loan Certainty Act to provide clear principles for institutions providing small loans and ensure Americans have safe and robust access to capital. 
 
On House Financial Services, I'm fighting to reduce regulatory costs and protect the American dream.

My team joined the Yorba Linda Woman’s Club in recognizing Yorba Linda high schools for their artistic and academic achievements.

Thank you to California dairy farmers for stopping by this week! Dairy farmers across our state help produce milk, butter, and nutritional milk powder found at our grocery store shelves.

I demanded answers about U.S. defense capabilities at this week's House Financial Services' National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions Subcommittee hearing.

We need strong naval capabilities to ensure that we’re successfully deterring any conflict against the CCP in the Indo-Pacific.

Team Young had fun celebrating Santa Margarita Water District's 60th Anniversary and their work to ensure clean, safe drinking water for several of our CA-40 South Orange County communities.

Team Young celebrated the grand re-opening of Crossroad Park, Chino Hills' first inclusive playground designed to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges and create a safe play environment for children and their parents! 

Public-private partnerships reduce the financial burden of development assistance on the taxpayer.

That's why at this week's House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, I asked U.S. International Development Finance Corporation's (DFC) CEO Scott Nathan to describe DFC’s work with the private sector to counter the CCP’s Belt and Road Initiative and support countries in need.

Thank you to the City of Tustin and Tustin Parks and Recreation for hosting another wonderful Cinco de Mayo celebration at Frontier Park! So fun to catch up with our Tustin community and celebrate Mexican culture and heritage.

Great to hear from New Zealand Ambassador Bede Corry and India Ambassador Rangnathan this week! As chairwoman of the Indo-Pacific Subcommittee, I’m committed to strengthening our countries’ security and trade partnership.

Delivering for CA-40 is my top priority.

In Congress, I secured resources through the FY24 appropriations packages for vital projects in CA-40 that protect public health, support law enforcement, and keep our communities safe.

My office is seeing an increase in casework requests related to cybercrimes. As we see hackers use sophisticated tactics to take your personal information, please remain vigilant and be careful of suspicious links, calls, and messages. If something seems suspect, trust your instinct and do not click.

Are you traveling planning travel for this year? Stop what you’re doing and check your passport!  

Processing times are now 6-8 weeks (routine) or 2-3 weeks (expedited, not incl. shipping). Start your renewal or application at travel.state.gov/passport.

Passport processing times are the fastest they’ve been since March 2020. Take advantage and apply or renew now so that you’re ready for international travel in the new year. 

Travel Tip -- Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months after your departure. Look up your destination’s entry requirements at travel.state.gov/destination and check your passport expiration date before booking flights.

Travelers are encouraged to wait to book international travel until a valid passport is physically in hand, apply for a new or renewed passport 9 months prior to travel, and ensure that their passport doesn’t expire within 6 months of their international travel dates.

If your pending application was filed with routine service and you have upcoming travel, you may benefit from upgrading to expedited service. Please dial (877) 487-2778 to upgrade to expedited service and shipping.

U.S. citizens should:

• Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists.
• Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency overseas.
• Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter and visit travel.state.gov.

If you are traveling abroad or are abroad please check the destination warning levels travel.state.gov, and be sure to register for the STEP program even if you are abroad.
