Hi John.

I’ve been hearing from many Kansas families who are struggling with higher grocery prices.

I understand how concerning that can be. My mom raised my brothers and me on her own. I worked multiple jobs in college and I’m still paying off my student loans. I know higher prices, especially on food, are a serious burden for people.

So today, I wanted to make sure you’re aware of resources that may help make your life more affordable at davids.house.gov/lowercosts. You can click here to explore help for your family.

I’m honored to serve you on the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. I’m pushing for concrete and bipartisan solutions to lower grocery prices and make life more affordable.

My focus is on building an economy that works for everyone. That means making life more affordable and building on progress in other areas of our economy.

In 2023, we saw the highest percentage of women in the workforce since 1948. Our economy also created more than 15 million jobs since 2020. But there’s certainly much more work to do, especially to lower costs.

That’s why I’m working to pass a long-term, bipartisan Farm Bill. This legislation supports a strong agricultural supply chain for Kansas farmers and ranchers.

Agriculture is the largest economic sector in Kansas. A stronger supply chain helps our agricultural producers grow their crops more efficiently, deliver their goods less expensively, and protect against costly disasters. That ultimately can help lower prices for families at the grocery store.

I’m also focused on increasing competition and preventing price gouging. Fair competition gives families more choices to shop for the best bargains and stops big corporations from taking advantage of folks. And I’m working to lower other everyday costs for Kansans. That’s why I voted to let Medicare cap insulin prices at $35 a month and negotiate for lower prescription drug prices.

As this important work continues, I want to make sure people can access resources that might help them right away. Please visit davids.house.gov/lowercosts to explore resources that may help you and your family.

My job is to serve every person and corner of our community, regardless of party. Whether we agree on every issue or not is beside the point. Everyone deserves a government works for them – not just for big corporations, special interests, or the extremes of either party.

It’s an honor to serve you. If you have any questions or would like to share your views, please feel free to contact me.

My warmest regards,
