Dear Friends,

I write with bittersweet news that I have been appointed by Governor Walz to serve as a judge in Minnesota's Second Judicial District (Ramsey County), where I will have the privilege of serving everyone in our community seeking justice. I will remain at ILCM for several weeks to complete my transition before joining the bench.

As the child of immigrants, it has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as the Executive Director of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM). I am so grateful to all of you--the ILCM community--for all you have taught me about building a just and inclusive community. I am blessed that you are a part of my story, and I am humbled to have been a small part of yours.

ILCM is well-prepared for a transition with a visionary Board led by Chair Sarah Radosevich and a tremendous leadership team, which will be stewarded by Interim Executive Director Jenny Stohl Powell. Jenny has been ILCM's Legal Director since 2019 and is a trusted leader in our state's immigration legal services ecosystem. Additionally, Maya Salah, our former Board Vice Chair, will chair the search committee to identify a new leader for ILCM.

Going forward, Sarah and Jenny will continue to update you on our transformative work and the leadership transition. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Development Director Sarah Henely at [email protected].

We deeply appreciate working with you.
