John,
In recent weeks, our ISI community and the country have been stricken by the COVID-19 virus. On an emotional level, this pandemic has produced unease and has unsettled all of our lives.
Yet Sunday marked the beginning of Holy Week, an occasion that offers a promise of hope.
Throughout this week, Jewish families will commemorate Passover by retelling the story of the Exodus and the escape of their people from bondage in Egypt, while Christians will celebrate the resurrection of Christ and His triumph over death.
Both of these events inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us by serving as reminders of hardship and renewal – A reminder that our best days lie ahead of us, no matter what trials or tribulations we might presently face.
Passover and Easter teach us that through God’s love, even in the midst of recent tragedy and sadness, anything is possible.
As the prophet Isaiah once said, “Darkness covers the Earth, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. For the Lord will be your everlasting light.”
Since our founding, Americans have turned to God to guide us in our everyday lives. And we praise God for the blessings of freedom and the gift of everlasting life.
On behalf of ISI, blessings to you and your families on this Passover and Easter.
All the best,
Charlie Copeland
President
