In April, the Florida Supreme Court issued a decision to uphold our state's 15-week abortion ban. And as of May 1, that means Ron DeSantis' brutal six-week ban with almost no exceptions for rape or incest has officially taken effect. But they also ruled last month to officially put abortion rights on the ballot this November, which means that Florida voters could overturn the GOP's extreme bans. This is a HUGE victory in the fight to defend reproductive freedom — but it's just the beginning. Now, we need to get this initiative across the finish line, defeat Rick Scott at the ballot box, and codify abortion rights.

The Sunshine State is ready to flip blue this fall. I've seen it firsthand while talking to voters who are fed up with far-right radicals and in the polling data that shows my race for Senate is a statistical tie. Now, we're seeing this momentum for change materialize at the ballot box.
