During National Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurses Week, we recognize their tireless and selfless service and continue to work in Congress to have their backs and deliver them the benefits and resources they deserve.

Congressman Kim Reintroduces Legislation to Support Veteran-Owned Businesses

Today, Congressman Kim was proud to help reintroduce his bipartisan Better Utilizing Infrastructure for Lasting Development of Veterans Businesses Act, referred to in short as the BUILD Act. This legislation would create a new program for veteran owned small businesses to win up to 3 percent of federal-aid highway and public transportation contracts. As we continue to see once-in-a lifetime funding made possible from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this legislation would help lift up veteran entrepreneurs who have the unique technical skills and knowledge to tackle these infrastructure projects.

The BUILD Act would go a long way to lift up our vets as we tackle our country's infrastructure needs!

A Celebration of the Power of Service and Volunteerism

This week, Congressman Kim was honored with Voices for National Service’s John Lewis Bridge to Service Award for his support of AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps Seniors, and his ongoing commitment to expanding opportunities for Americans of every background to serve and volunteer in their community.

A Showcase of Student Art!

It is always incredible to see so many students’ hard work and impressive art in one place! That’s why we love to host a special showcase of the artwork students submitted to Congressional Art Competition from our district. Thank you to all the artists for participating this year and for joining us this week to celebrate your work with loved ones.

Setting Students Up for Career Success

Earlier this week, Congressman Kim visited Freehold High School where, thanks to federal support and incredible educators, they offer hands-on experience in fields students might make a career out of. The Congressman enjoyed speaking to students studying culinary arts, medical science, and health professions to get to know their programs.

Sadly, it’s about the time for Spring internships to end. We are so grateful to each and every intern in New Jersey and on Capitol Hill who helped us serve New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District these past couple of months. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to helping our communities.

Stopping SNAP Skimming and other Scams

Americans who use SNAP benefits to help put food on the table are being targeted by thieves via card skimming. The lost benefits are costly and common-sense upgrades to EBT cards would protect hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans’ benefits. That’s exactly why Congressman Kim recently helped introduce the Enhanced Cybersecurity for SNAP Act to protect families from these threats.
