Relive the LinkedIn Live!

Hey folks!

Arielle and Nandini tried a little experiment Thursday and it was a smashing success! Their LinkedIn Live, “When did brand safety tech get so sketchy?”, really broke down why the heck the tech is, well, broken.

It’s a great intro into the world of companies like the Trustworthy Accountability Group, which basically rubber-stamps companies as brand safe.

We can’t wait to host another chat. Until then, catch this week’s on LinkedIn — and maybe follow Nandini and Arielle there!

Big-picture thinking by a big picture window

Claire, Arielle, and Cindy.

Claire and Arielle visited the Sky Apartment to meet with ad veteran Cindy Gallop and chat about the work we're each doing to fix digital advertising. It’s a great fit, because just like us, Cindy’s not afraid to tell it like it is.

Que sera, Sarah?

It has been A WEEK for Sarah Kay Wiley, our Director of Policy and Partnerships, so let’s dive right in!

1. She co-wrote an op-ed with Peter Horrocks, a founding member of the Balkan Free Media Initiative, about an issue close to our hearts: Unwitting advertisers’ dollars being used to fund Russian disinfo.

2. The Lincoln Project co-founder Reed Galen had Sarah on for its latest podcast, and they covered a lot of ground: How adtech is broken! Why Big Tech wrecked local news! Google’s giant antitrust trial!

3. Sarah and Claire met up at small democracy conference in Detroit and talked all about the future state of media, journalism, and technology.

Great job, Sarah! Go get some rest!

Claire and Sarah say hello from Detroit!

Actor, comedian, and Check My Ads fan(!) David Cross is doing us a HUGE solid and fundraising for us across his upcoming tour! It’s pretty simple: $2 of each ticket sold goes to Check My Ads. If he's coming to your city, think about picking up a ticket!
