Many of you saw the long lines in Wisconsin earlier this week as people put their health at risk so they could exercise their right to vote. It is inexcusable that there was not a vote-by-mail option for those voters.
We are living in unprecedented times right now and we don’t know how long social distancing guidelines will be in place. But we do know that Americans shouldn’t have to choose between their health and safety and their right to vote.
Please join me in calling on Congress to implement a national vote-by-mail-program through the November elections.
The option to vote-by-mail is critical for our vulnerable populations like seniors and those with compromised immune systems, as well as those on the front lines like doctors and nurses who shouldn’t be asked to leave work to stand in line at polling places.
