It was great to have the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce in Washington this week. We had the opportunity to discuss everything from the Farm Bill to foreign aid and immigration policy. Thank you to Chamber President and CEO Mike Neal and for all the members who contributed to our thoughtful discussion.
Right now, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a rule on meat and poultry products that the agency ADMITS will cause some processing plants to close. These forced closures will have negative effects on the country’s food supply and food costs, not to mention the economic harm it will bring to our farmers, growers, and producers in Oklahoma. I questioned EPA Administrator Michael Regan about this proposed rule and the EPA's ability to know what is best for farmers and ranchers. Check it out here.
Increasing rural broadband has been a priority of mine for quite some time. Thank you to the Oklahoma members of the NTCA Rural Broadband Association for taking the time to meet in Washington recently and for your efforts in ensuring connectivity for all Oklahomans, no matter their zip code.
