Enjoy a day on the water
Discover the Orange River Water Trail on a paddling adventure in early June with Maine Coast Heritage Trust. This accessible Downeast water trail includes miles of fresh water teeming with wildlife such as waterfowl, wading birds, bald eagles, deer, and brook trout. Here's your chance to explore the new picnic areas, campsites, and hiking trails brought to you by local organizations such as Maine Coast Heritage Trust, Downeast Coastal Conservancy, Cobscook Shores, Downeast Salmon Federation, and Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
Come and experience a 2 mile paddle or a 1.5 mile paddle to Estey Mountain and enjoy a campfire picnic. While you should pack your own snacks and lunch, a special treat of smoke alewives will be provided. There will also be an optional guided hike up to the summit of Estey Mountain. Interested paddlers should bring their own boat, paddles, and life jackets, though there will be a limited number of boats available free of charge upon request. Please indicate your need for a boat on the registration form.
