Between the mass challenges brought by an out-of-state voter suppression group and the individual ones brought by self-appointed internet sleuths, nearly 500,000 Georgians had their right to vote threatened in 2022 . Only around 2,000 of the challenges were successful, and another 3,000 or so voters had to update some documentation.
Don't worry, we did the math: That means 99% of the challenges brought forward were baseless accusations designed to suppress turnout in a critical election.
Yet opponents of voting rights just expanded Georgia's voter challenge system, John, and created additional hurdles to vote. RUSH $25 or whatever you can today to fight back against this dangerous law and defend voting rights in Georgia and beyond >> [[link removed]]

CNN: Georgia lawmakers back broad election changes, including one that could benefit third-party presidential contenders [[link removed]]
Straight from CNN, John:
" Republican-backed legislation headed to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s desk would establish new rules for challenging voters’ eligibility and make it easier to qualify for the presidential ballot – changes that could have consequences in this fall’s elections in a closely watched battleground state. "
A brief history before we get to why this change is important -- after the 2020 election triggered widespread false claims of voter fraud in Georgia, voter fraud organizations based in other states have driven deluded individuals in Georgia to lodge tens of thousands of voter eligibility challenges .
The 2021 Georgia voter suppression law made it so a single voter could bring an unlimited number of challenges, and election officials in some large counties have been inundated with demands to remove voters from the rolls. The vast majority of these challenges were eventually thrown out, but the effect on voter turnout was chilling .
So of course now opponents of voting rights were so thrilled with that result that they included a separate provision in this new 2024 bill that makes it easier to uphold challenges to voter registrations, with a clear goal to reduce turnout by picking and choosing whose votes get to count. And now the Governor has signed it into law.
Voter suppression is real, John, both here in Georgia and across the country. Push back on these cynical voter challenges with $25 or whatever you can right now to protect the right to vote in Georgia and beyond >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
