Dear neighbor,
As your Member of Congress, I am honored to have spent my time in Washington working to pass laws that will lower costs, protect our national security, and help move the American family forward. Under the Democratic majority in the 117th Congress, we passed laws to lower the cost of prescription drugs, rebuild our nation’s infrastructure, fight the gun violence epidemic and invest in clean energy resources.
Instead of continuing this historic progress, the extreme MAGA Republican House majority is now focused on deeply unserious bills about refrigerators, laundry machines and dishwashers. These bills would also stifle innovation and raise prices for American consumers. I am once again calling on Republicans to get serious and work with Democrats to pass meaningful legislation that will make our communities healthier and stronger. Check out my full remarks below.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK: I was honored to stand alongside my colleagues in the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) to celebrate Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month! The AANHPI community has helped make America what it is today through invaluable contributions to art, science, business, sports, education and beyond. I am especially pleased to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of CAPAC, which advocates for policies impacting the Asian American community here in Congress. To members of the AANHPI community in Los Angeles County and around the country, happy AANHPI Heritage Month!
MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH: May is Mental Health Month. If you have a mental health condition, you are not alone. More than one in five American adults report living with a mental health condition. Asking for help with your mental health is a strength, not a weakness. If you or a loved one is struggling, the 988 crisis line is available 24/7.
