Celebrating Creativity with Kainos at Our Community Art Show!

We're thrilled to highlight our partnership with Kainos, an inspiring organization that supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are thrilled that Kainos adults have embraced art, expressing their creativity and skills impressively.

The artwork displayed at our Community Art Show by Kainos clients, like the detailed paper collage turtle made by Mikey—is a testament to their hard work and the adaptability of our program. Liz Zirbes, Kainos Director of Day and Employment Services, and Bridget Chamberlain, Community Engagement Coordinator, have been instrumental in integrating our curriculum to enhance the lives of their clients.

This partnership is an example of how our programs can be enriching for adults, and that creativity knows no bounds!

Remembering the Legendary Faith Ringgold

We mourn the loss of Faith Ringgold, who passed away on April 13, 2024, at age 93. Renowned for her vibrant story quilts depicting African American life, Faith's art has left an indelible mark on history and culture. Her works, like the celebrated "Who’s Afraid of Aunt Jemima," and her children’s book "Tar Beach," have empowered and inspired generations.

Faith's influence extended into our community, notably as the keynote speaker at our Soiree 2014, where she shared her vision and passion. As we reflect on her tremendous contributions, we continue to draw inspiration from her belief in the transformative power of art.

Faith Ringgold's legacy will forever inspire us to explore and push boundaries in art and storytelling.
