You’re probably receiving a LOT of emails from campaigns across the country asking you for money. I’m not going to lie, this is going to be one of those emails. But this is how our campaign (and our emails) are different:

* • Thanks to you, we elected the first meteorologist to Congress in 50 years and Illinois’ first openly LGBTQ member of Congress ever. And national organizations have recognized our pioneering campaign, including 314 Action, the LGBTQ Victory Fund, and the National Weather Service Employees Organization.

* • We kept IL-17 blue and together we are the campaign built to keep IL-17 blue. A poll commissioned by 314 Action shows that climate change is a top issue. The voters of IL-17 know their former meteorologist, and trust me to represent their interests in Congress.

* • And we’re making real arguments as to why we need your support. Our emails don’t traffic in hyperbole nor exaggerations, we don’t make up goals, we tell the truth just as I did every day on TV. My team will always write about real plans and use real numbers because I trust you as rational voting adults to understand what we’re up against.

We are fast approaching our mid-quarter fundraising deadline, and all eyes are on us to show that we’ve been able to continue building our momentum to stave off upcoming attacks from National Republicans.
