Dear Friend,
I recently visited the new location of the iconic Welton Street Cafe, one of Denver’s oldest Black-owned restaurants, in the historic Five Points neighborhood. It’s been a long road to getting back in business, but the food is worth it!
I had the pleasure of meeting with one of the owners, Fathima Dickerson, who showed me her plans for the cafe—and I saw firsthand the value of this small business to the Five Points community. They’re close to completing the renovation of their business and we’ll be able to enjoy the Cafe and its great food again soon. But they do need some help getting across the finish line.

For my birthday, I made a contribution to the Welton Street Cafe Go Fund Me Campaign to support them and their re-opening. If you’d like to do so as well, you can here. [[link removed]]

In Colorado, we’re at our best when we support and root for each other. Five Points is a vital part of Colorado’s history and our community—and the Welton Street Cafe is a big part of that.
Thanks for joining me in helping preserve this community gem.
Phil
