The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women   Weekly Wrap May 10, 2024   This Week's Highlights   Monday Last week, Democrat Reps. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), Mary Peltola (AL-AK), and Don Davis (NC-01) joined two other colleagues in releasing a joint statement agreeing with calls to "act and bring order to the southern border." But as Fox News notes, the comments come after all of them voted against the Secure the Border Act of 2023, which "would have expanded the type of crimes that make someone ineligible for asylum, limited the eligibility to those who arrive at ports of entry, mandated a system similar to the E-Verify employment eligibility verification system, and created additional penalties for visa overstay." WFW PAC has endorsed conservative challengers we all three incumbents. Tuesday GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21) kept up the pressure on President Biden and Democrats for their failure to stand up to pro-Hamas mobs at college campuses across the country. Stefanik pledged that the GOP-led House of Representatives would continue to do whatever it can to take action and protect Jewish students. Wednesday Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) introduced the Care for Military Kids Act. This bipartisan legislation "aims to ensure servicemembers can maintain critical healthcare coverage and medical services for their children no matter where their service takes them." Thursday Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) introduced the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) Act. In announcing the legislation, Britt shared a staggering statistic: The U.S. had the lowest number of births last year since 1979, and our country's total fertility rate is at an all-time low. According to Britt's office, the bill "would provide critical support to women during typically challenging phases of motherhood – prenatal, postpartum, and early childhood development – and bolster access to resources and assistance to help mothers and their children thrive."   In The News   Southeast Iowa Union: Rep.
