Now that tax season is coming to a close (although really, tax season lasts all year!), I wanted to share a few interesting statistics with you!

Take a look:

- More than 2.8 million returns processed

- Over 1.8 million refunds processed

- Over $2.2 billion paid in refunds

- Average refund of $1,326

Over the last year, we’ve focused on modernizing our processes and systems. It’ll take more time to implement and fully achieve this vision, but we’ve already seen improvements this tax season.

This has been a very busy year for our team, and we’ve faced challenges along the way, but I’m proud of the great people we have at our agency and the progress we are making. Everyone is dedicated to solving the problems Marylanders are facing and ensuring our system is second to none in the country. Thank you for staying connected.
