Martin Sheen: "Will you chip in now to help Sherrod win reelection?"

Friend, I’m writing to you today not as an actor, an activist, or a former (fictional) president, but as a Buckeye – a concerned one at that because Sherrod Brown, one of our state’s great leaders, is in trouble.

You might not know this about me, but I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. I had eight brothers and one sister, and our dad was a factory worker – exactly the type of worker Sherrod Brown has spent his whole career fighting for. To this day, when I see Sherrod fighting for Ohioans, I know he’s fighting for families like mine. He makes me proud to be a Buckeye.

But Ohio has seen a dangerous shift in recent years. Sherrod is in the middle of a tough reelection campaign in a state Donald Trump won twice. Experts are calling him one of the most vulnerable incumbents on the ballot this cycle, and I’m determined to do everything I can to keep his voice in the Senate.

That’s why I’m personally asking: Friend, will you chip in $5 or more today to help Sherrod Brown win in Ohio and keep the Senate blue?

Sherrod has spent his life fighting for working families. He’s not afraid to stand up to big banks and corporate elites and make sure they’re held accountable. His opponent, on the other hand, is a wealthy millionaire who has profited off of this same unfair system.

He's ready to pour millions of dollars of his own money into this race, and Sherrod simply doesn’t have that option. Instead, he’s counting on grassroots supporters like you to have his back before his midnight fundraising deadline. So please, will you chip in now to keep Sherrod in the Senate fighting for all of us?

I believe as citizens, it’s our duty to get involved – and stay involved – in choosing the leaders who run our country. Helping to elect leaders like Sherrod is an important part of that.
