Matt and Jessica were newly engaged and caught up in the excitement of wedding planning, but their plans were derailed when Matt was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Matt was able to preserve his sperm before the effects of cancer treatment.

stepped in to help alleviate the burden of costly fertility services to give Matt and Jessica a chance at the family they dreamed of after cancer. "Thank goodness we came across Livestrong to help us through this process since our insurance did not cover IVF at all," Jessica said.

After facing the discouragement of both cancer and infertility, Matt and Jessica were elated to have 2 successful pregnancies in 2019 and 2021. Their children, now 5 and 2, are a reminder of their resilience and their reason to Livestrong every day. "Without Livestrong’s support we likely would not have been able to have the children we have today," Jessica said.
