The delusions of the anti-death penalty activists

The death penalty works as a deterrent to keep drug traffickers from entering Singapore. So why are activists so against it?

A small group of activists in Singapore have taken it upon themselves that drug traffickers on the death penalty deserve our attention and pity. This appears to be a case of misplaced sympathy.

In Parliament on May 8, Minister for Home Affairs and Law K Shanmugam highlighted the harmful effects of drugs on Singaporeans. In sum, drug abuse destroys lives.

Singaporeans will commemorate Drug Victims Remembrance Day next weekend (May 17-19) at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. From now on, Rememberance Day takes place every third Friday in May to remind Singaporeans of how the loved ones of drug abusers suffer.

Together, let’s build a safe and strong Singapore.
