John, My heart goes out to every member of the Jewish Community, who may or may not be able to celebrate Passover with their loved ones due to COVID-19. I hope that the spirit of this holiday still brings joy and that you find your own ways to keep your relatives close. This pandemic has changed life as we know it. In Wisconsin, voters had to decide whether to risk their lives to vote — or stay home for the primary. As the epicenter of this public health crisis, New York must act now to put safety measures in place before our June primary. Earlier this week, I released a plan calling for mail-in ballots, expanded early voting, and same-day registration to help with public safety for the June election. The state has an opportunity to make these necessary voting reforms now while voters are actively paying attention to the news and receptive to change that should become the new norm. All of the reforms I’ve outlined are common-sense measures for any election, let alone one being held in the middle of a pandemic. These are the types of permanent changes candidates should be calling for if they truly care about democracy through this public health crisis and beyond. Donate here if you believe we need to fight for these election reforms to expand voter access. As a campaign, we are doing everything we can to reach voters online and by phone. If you are in a position to help us, please chip in now to keep our momentum going through June. Together, we can ensure that all voters have access to voting in these elections, without putting their lives at risk. All my best, |
